Reducing Tobacco Use 
A Report of the Surgeon General

August 2000

On August 9, 2000, Surgeon General David Satcher released a report on tobacco, "Reducing Tobacco Use," which found that smoking rates among teens and adults could be cut in half within a decade if the nation would fully implement anti-smoking programs using effective approaches that are already available.
