SLIDE 3: The Numbers - 1 in 20 Americans have a genetic thrombophilia.
- Each year, 909,793 cases of venous thromboembolism —clots in veins— are estimated to occur in the United States.
- Of these, 378,623 are deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which occur in the leg's deep veins.
- 531,170 are pulmonary embolism, a serious and often fatal complication of deep vein thrombosis.
- As many as 296,370 Americans die each year from venous thromboembolism.

SLIDE 4: Our Mission NATT is: a nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to preventing thrombosis, and ensuring that all persons suffering from thrombosis and/or thrombophilia receive early diagnosis, optimal treatment and quality support. NATT will achieve this: through research, education, support and advocacy on behalf of those at risk of, or affected by, thrombosis and thrombophilia. Return to Top
